AFA Alaska Welcomes New State President

February 9, 2026

We are thrilled to announce that Lisa Slaba, has been named the new Alaska State President for the Air & Space Forces Association (AFA).

Lisa’s deep-rooted connection to the AFA mission began at FE Warren AFB with the Cowboy Chapter, and she most recently served our local community as the AFA Midnight Sun Chapter Vice President of Community Partnerships. A tireless advocate for military spouses and families, Lisa focuses her efforts on ensuring families have access to vital resources both locally and nationally. Her commitment to service is long-standing. Over the last decade, she has served as a Key Support Liaison and currently supports over 168 Airmen and their families as the 354th MDG KSL.

Lisa’s leadership extends into the professional sphere, where she hosts the Alaska – Networking for Military Spouse Professionals group, connecting more than 300 spouses across the state with employment opportunities and career resources. In recognition of her impact, she has been honored as the 2026 and 2023 Armed Forces Insurance (AFI) Eielson AFB Military Spouse of the Year. Her dedication to excellence is further reflected in her academic and professional pursuits; she earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2023 and is currently working toward her Master of Public Policy (MPP) through American Public University (APU). Above all, Lisa is a proud mother of two elementary-age children who inspire her daily to strengthen the support systems for military families in the Last Frontier.

Please join us in welcoming Lisa to her new role as she continues to champion our Airmen, Guardians, and their families across Alaska.
